Through work I got offered a “discount” by switching my retail electricity bill over to Orkusalan. Orkusalan’s retail prices are 6.46kr/kwh. OR’s are 6.53 kr/kwh. For my (small appartment’s) annual usage of ~2500kWh, that’s an annual saving of…. 150kr. Not worth the hassle of switching and calling. (And you would still get a bill from OR anyway, for distribution, generation, and cold and hot water)
But ok, I got some 0.5 kr discount or something, I don’t remember the full terms, but something that was going to maybe actually be worth while. And hey, I’ll support competition if I can. But, it means another bill, and that’s a bit of a hassle and a waste of time, and well…. see for yourself….
![Fee for just having a bill eats almost the entire saving of switching](https://truth.ekta.is/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/201311-orkusalan-true-savings.png)
So there, I get a discount, that works out to 130kr per month, but it’s almost entirely eaten up by the fact that I get charged for having an account. Awesome. So glad I switched over.
