Islandsbanki recently forced a move to mastercard for all existing credit card holders. We’re not going to talk about that here, as while the reshuffling of all the icelandic credit card processors, and what banks offer which cards is very interesting, it’s “out of scope”
They promised to have moved all Icelandic companies direct debits from the old cards to the new cards, but they failed at that. (Nova and Orkan at least) They also helpfully decided to start sending out paper statements, even though I didn’t have paper statements before. What a wonderful waste of paper.
Further, the paper statements they’re sending out are absolute garbage! They’ve crunched up all the transactions into two columns, with no clear column separator, and instead of a normal two column layout, they go back and forth across the columns! And to make it even worse, they then separate foreign transactions into a separate section, that’s only a single column! Garbage. If they are trying to save paper, then tossing out all the garbage payment slip cruft from the statement would be more useful.
